May 8th saw the start of something new for Kids Ministry within Acts Churches NZ.  This day was the day that the dreams and visions of Kidmin leaders around that country started to be realised.  This was the start of a network of leaders sharing their joys, their struggles and their passions for the Children of our movement.

The 8th May saw 12 Kidmin leaders from across the lower north island and one from the deep south join together, a spark was lit in their lives through the passion of the Leaders who shared their heart for our movements children and children’s leaders.

The morning was two years in the making but when it all finally came together it went off with a bang.  We talked, we laughed, we cried, we shared our visions, our struggles and our passion for what we do every week with the children we encounter and throughout the day friendships where formed that will enable us to continue through the hard times that we all face a children’s leaders.

Here is what one of the leaders attending had to say

What a start! there was I caught up in thinking my situation, our church, it’s so unique. Well, there were 10 others in similar situations facing similar challenges. And then to hear two particularly amazing people give voice to the dreams and vision I’ve been carrying…

This was the start but there is much more to come.  We have started a Database of Kids Leaders and will be running training events and leaders days throughout the country over the coming year so look out for info because we would love to connect you with others.

This is our chance to be connected to work together and stand together, to build into the lives of the kids in our movement the leaders of today.
